We should keep this in mind when we hear this is all going to plan for Iran. I remember when Hajizadeh was going around saying they were going to kill 5000 US troops in the first 48 hours, and I think at the time they thought they could do it. Whatever happened to that guy?

A major problem for Trump is that the current Iranian leadership is no more likely to agree to U.S. demands on the nuclear issue than Khamenei, but they ultimately might be more willing to pursue nuclear weapons. Khamenei, by most estimates, used his his veto power to block what appeared to be growing calls within the system for the bomb. If Trump declares victory now, Iran’s new leadership will be battered and bruised but will have demonstrated they can survive the worst, and may be more convinced than ever that nuclear weapons can prevent a repeat of Epic Fury.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio openly admitted today that the United States launched preemptive strikes on Iran because intelligence indicated Israel was planning its own independent military action against Iran. He stated that U.S. officials “knew that there was going to be an Israeli action,” believed Iran would retaliate against American forces in the region as a result, and therefore chose to strike first to minimize potential U.S. casualties. In his words, the “imminent threat” was not a direct, unprovoked attack from Iran on America, but rather Iran’s expected response to an Israeli strike that Washington knew was coming anyway. This is entanglement in another nation’s conflict, plain and simple. The US government has dragged American service members and taxpayers into a war to shield Israel from the consequences of its own decisions. As a result, six American service members have been confirmed dead due to yet another foreign entanglement. When will enough be enough?
