#Dude left me thinking far more than I expected. On the surface, the film seems like a wild premise: Agan marries his uncle’s daughter Kayal, not out of love, but to help her escape her casteist father and unite with the man she truly loves, Paari. He loves her, yes. But he still chooses her happiness over his own, knowing fully well that she has chosen someone else. At first glance, the plot may sound absurd. But it is an honest, uncomfortable truth: When you genuinely love someone, their happiness outweighs your ego. Agan embodies that. He does what most people claim they would never do. However, society and reviewers didn’t take this lightly. The movie has faced sharp criticism for “destroying the sanctity of marriage,” “mocking traditions,” and “character-assassinating” Kayal for being “immoral.” Some even went after the supposed “holiness” of the mangalsutra/thaali, arguing that the film disrespects it. My view is simple: A Thaali has no meaning if the person tying it and the person wearing it do not want to share their lives. It’s a symbol of union, NOT THE UNION ITSELF. Rituals cannot create bonding when the minds have already parted ways. Tamil cinema has always pushed boundaries. If social media had existed in 2000, imagine the outrage over Alaipayuthey. There’s literally a scene where Shakti keeps her thaali aside at night and wears it again in the morning. Today, that clip alone would have triggered endless debates on “culture,” “values,” and “respect.” But the point is this: These symbolic gestures have nothing to do with whether two people want to share a life. Society has always obsessed over the guardrails and rituals, not the actual emotional compatibility between two adults. DUDE simply reinforces that two people should be together only if they want to be. When caste, religion, status, or family pressure corners them, they will take extreme steps to claim their happiness. Calling them “immoral” while turning a blind eye to honour killings in 2025, Tamil Nadu is the real irony. This is not theoretical for me. A woman in my own distant family secretly married a Christian man because she feared that her family would not agree with her choice. They revealed it only when her marriage was being arranged. And guess what, they’re happily living together today. Many in my family even watched Alaipayuthey back then to see “where she got the idea from.” So here’s my question to society: If someone you love does not choose you, does that automatically give you license to disrespect their love? Why does everything have to be filtered through the male ego? People who call Agan a “cuckold” completely miss the point. If he had abused Kayal or killed her, as we tragically still see in honor killings or jilted lover cases, would that have satisfied the “morality”? And what if the situation were reversed? If Agan loved someone else and Kayal helped him marry her, would she suddenly become a celebrated symbol of sacrifice? The truth is painfully simple: Marriage alone doesn’t bind two people. Choice does. Compatibility does. Desire does. And I’m NOT TALKING ABOUT ILLICIT RELATIONSHIPS. I’m talking about mature, consenting adults choosing whom they want to share their lives with. People often say, “Divorces have increased these days.” Sure, but mayb that’s because people today can walk away from relationships that don’t serve them. Options exist. Awareness exists. Look at Mouna Ragam: In 1986, when Revathi says she wants a divorce, Mohan respects it and takes her to a lawyer. Even then, the divorce lawyer discourages her because society wasn’t ready to accept the concept. NOT TODAY. Because we’ve evolved. Laws evolved. Society evolved. So why shouldn’t our ideas about relationships evolve too? I genuinely feel Keerthiswaran has attempted something important. Flawed? Maybe. But necessary? Absolutely. He’s forcing society to confront a conversation we’ve postponed for too long!

@moviesavailable There is logic issue in that certainly, they could have talked in phone itself way before marriage date regarding it. But I would say this movie is not worth that much investigation and thought put into it. Just go with the flow and leave it when he movie finishes.

When Lord Shiva took the form of "Sharabha" the being who calmed Narasimha. After killing Hiranyakashipu, Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar was still burning with cosmic rage. Neither Brahma nor the Devas could stop him. Then… Shiva stepped in. #harharmahadev#PuranicStories

Baba Kaal Bhairav — fierce, fearless, and beyond logic. They say, “He accepts only what’s given with devotion.” Maybe that’s why... the bottle empties only in the hands of the true believer.

When reporters and scientists tried to find the mechanism, they found nothing unusual. No hollow base. No pipe. No absorption material.| Just stone. And faith. The mystery has stood unsolved for centuries.

They say Lord Ganesha wrote the Mahabharata — but few know the hidden condition he placed before agreeing. This story isn’t just a myth—it’s a lesson on discipline and divine focus. A short thread 🧵👇

Marriages these days are so scary. One of my friends is getting married to one of my school mates. She was in a relationship with a guy since 4 years and they couldn’t marry because of caste issues. While, the guy she is getting married to was in a relationship since 5 years and couldn’t marry his gf again because of caste issues. They are still deeply in love with their exes. Six lives wasted, just settling in a setup created by parents somehow. And I know many such more cases. It’s extremely exhausting to see them.
