Tom is a good dude, and a good coach. His response (to me) was coach speak. He would absolutely be foolish to not at least listen to the NC pitch. However, I like having him in the Big12.

Sources: Hubert Davis will not return as North Carolina’s head coach, per me and @jeffborzello. He’s spent the last five years as the head coach of the Tar Heels, compiling a 125-54 record. UNC reached the national title game in his first year there.

In 2007, Kansas set a school record with 12 wins including an Orange Bowl win over Virginia Tech. The Jayhawks led by head coach Mark Mangino averaged 44.3 PPG while allowing only 16 PPG. Mangino was named National Coach of the year after finishing 12-1!

Kansas is currently renovating their football stadium as a part of a $450 million project. Phase 1 was completed in 2025 with full renovations expected to be finished in 2028.
