You did something that is, at the very least, Makruh. Don't think that all these ignorant people congratulating you on your violation of Islamic law means you did something good. The Kimono is something non-Muslims wear. Muslims are ordered in Islam to oppose non-Muslims externally and internally. Muslims wear a Thawb with Izar or Salwar, or Salwar and Qamis.

As long as your idea of Sunni is restricted to just Gulf elites, of course you would think this. Palestine, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Algeria, Somalia, overwhelmingly Sunni. Even most of the Iraqi insurgency that gave Bush the original kick in the teeth were Sunnis
