During the 2016 post-election transition, those of us leading agencies with substantial national security duties worked with heightened vigilance. It’s essential to ensure there are no gaps and that adversaries perceive no weakness. Inexplicable that Trump would fire SECDEF now.

I’ve always been awed by humans who run towards danger when duty calls. Grateful right now for all the citizen vote counters, Repubs and Dems, everyone masked, doing the painstaking work of tabulating every single ballot manually, vividly proving that our democracy still works.

A sitting president undermining our political process & questioning the legality of the voices of countless Americans without evidence is not only dangerous & wrong, it undermines the very foundation this nation was built upon. Every American should have his or her vote counted.
