Our olive orchard is planted! With funding from the CDFA Healthy Soils Program, the 5-acre orchard has 16 research plots where we will assess the greenhouse gas impacts of using biochar as a soil amendment. How much carbon can a carbon sink sink? @cdfanews @CDFAClimateNews

The farmers in our Beginning Farmer Training Program are really growing! They are developing the skills they need to grow, harvest and market fresh food, and the results are gorgeous, nutritious and delicious! #followthetomato to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Baby bird update! So far this year 63 eggs have hatched in our 36 nest boxes. 40 of those baby birds have already fledged, and these tree swallow nestlings are not far behind. Parents will often raise a second brood, so we’ll keep monitoring throughout the summer.
