Trump has unwittingly become the salesman in chief for Chinese green technology, and may ironically end up being the single most consequential American president for climate change in the process 😅
Thorne 🌸@ExistentialEnso

At this rate, Donald Trump is going to wind up accidentally solving climate change by forcing the world to scramble to roll out renewables in order to deal with the fact it will take years to get back to previous oil production levels

Liberating the Iranian people by bombing their oil refineries, poisoning their air, destroying their fresh water supplies, exploding their elementary schools, and now "obliterating" their power plants. Who wouldn't be grateful for this?

Our Canadian ruling corporate capitalist class is in thrall to the USA and its imperial power. We drastically cut federal program spending to increase preparations for war at Trump's behest, and this is what we get.

This is wild. People in *every single one* of the top US allies now think it's better to depend on China than the US. The global balance of power is clearly tilting away from the US and toward China.

Ontario program spending is consistently above the Budget plan -- but the deficit is consistently below the Budget plan -- by about $14 billion per year on average. Take the upcoming PC Budget with a BIG grain of salt. ochuleftwords.blogspot.com/2026/03/ontari…

During the provincial election, Doug Ford was Captain Canada, allegedly. Now all that bravado is gone and he's back to being a little Trumper, trying to solve problems by war and guns.

The USA continues to dig itself into a bigger and bigger hole with its erstwhile allies / semi colonies. At a certain point they may stop digging. But not yet!
Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

NEW - Premier Ford defended his government’s impending changes that will prevent he & his ministers from being subject to freedom of information requests by saying, “We’ve got to protect ourselves against the Communist Chinese that are infiltrating our country”

🇩🇪🇷🇺 US to Germany: “Destroy your industry, because Russia is bad.” Germany to US: “Yes.” …oil crisis breaks out… US to Germany: “We’re going to allow Russian oil; we can’t have high prices.” Germany to US: “Wait, I thought Russia is bad and we should suffer to destroy them?” US to Germany: “You should suffer, not us. Now be quiet.” Germany to US: “Yes.”

So very concretely the outcome of the war so far is that Iran controls the world's most critical energy chokepoint, and Russia can now sell their own oil freely and at a premium. I can't think of another U.S. war that's been such an obvious strategic disaster so quickly: normally it takes them a couple of years...

When looking at these apocalyptic images, remember: the time when the West could slaughter Untermenschen and commit genocide with impunity is coming to an end — meaning that it’s only a matter of time before this violence reaches Western cities, potentially in the form of all-out global war. Not to mention the fact that the criminals currently running the West will have no qualms about turning the war machine on their own people when the time comes. So if you can’t bring yourself to oppose this horror on moral grounds, you should at least be able to do so on grounds of basic self-interest and survival.

Apocalyptic scenes from Tehran tonight. I’ve never seen something like this.
