23 Sept: St Adomnán/Eunan (d. 704). 9th abbot #Iona! From #Donegal. As well as writing the famous Vita/Life on his cousin St Columba he wrote 'Law of Innocents' (women/other non-combatants in wartime; fines for breaking) - on my wish list! @FourCourtsPress fourcourtspress.ie/books/2020/lex…

Hugely exciting to see my book in the @tcdlibrary, the wonderful staff of which (especially @antocarey) were so helpful when I was writing it! Colleagues and students, a great time to borrow a book for end of summer light reading…

My book is out today! You can read the intro at the link below. It argues that law is best understood through the lens of William James’ philosophical pragmatism, and this is best explored through literature, from William’s brother Henry James to Hilary Mantel to Seamus Heaney.

Down to a very final proofread for my forthcoming book Pragmatism, Law, and Literature. It’s probably the sign of a good project that I’ll be quite sad to see it go off to the printers and to not to have it to work on anymore. It’s been a joy to write.

Sadly absent is the leading light of the project, Arianna Alpini, whom we hope to see next time. Enjoy Dublin and safe travels, Francesca and Paolo!

It was great to meet Francesca Ferretti and Paolo Sernani of Università di Macerata at an event at DCU today. They have been working with @yesthewholebook Eugene McNulty and Adam Hanna @adamdhanna on a book, *Law Art Humanities* (forthcoming EUM Press in Italy).
