Millions have gazed upon the Eiffel Tower, but few know that a secret room exists near the top of this famous structure.
When designing the tower in the late 19th century, engineer Gustave Eiffel built himself a small apartment located nearly 300 meters above the ground. Inside, it contained furniture, bookshelves, a piano, and was decorated like a real living room.
Remarkably, despite numerous offers from wealthy individuals to rent it at high prices, Eiffel refused. He kept it as his private space for receiving guests and conducting scientific experiments.
At the time, owning a room at such a height was almost unthinkable. While all of Paris lay at the foot of the tower, only a select few were allowed to enter this special place.
Today, the room remains almost perfectly preserved inside the Eiffel Tower. Visitors can see it through the glass, but most are still unable to enter directly.
