The #world is a #fallen place because of #sin. #God gave people #free #will, and through that free will, people choose to sin. These people choose to turn their backs on God, but that same free will also leads other people to turn towards #Jesus. And Jesus, through His believers, and through acts of #miracles, can and does do great things. Humanity will always be flawed because people are flawed—just look at what people did to Jesus by crucifying Him—but through (1) God the #Father, (2) the #Holy #Spirit, and (3) Jesus #Christ, we have #hope and #salvation.

You can be horrified about what is happening in the world and still take time to celebrate the good. Humanity can still do great things.

Christian astronaut pilots first moon mission in 53 years Victor Glover, NASA Artemis II astronaut, made some remarkable statements in a pre-Easter interview from the Orion space capsule. He cites "the beauty of creation" and says “When I read the Bible and I look at all of the amazing things that were done for us…” and then says we were "created." Glover then says that Earth is an "amazing place" and Earth "was created to give us a place to live in the universe". He goes on to say "You are special. In all of this emptiness, this is a whole bunch of nothing this thing we call the universe, you have this oasis, this beautiful place that we get to exist together." Link to the video below.

In an emotional moment broadcast live from the Orion spacecraft, the Artemis II crew chose to name a Moon crater “Carroll" after commander Reid Wiseman's wife, who died of cancer in 2020. “It's a bright spot on the Moon. And we would like to call it Carroll."

The Artemis II astronauts got to watch #ProjectHailMary while quarantined before their moon mission: “That was a real treat that they sent us a link to view that at home with our families, getting us ready to go on our own space adventure.” “I would just say to Ryan, art imitates science and vice versa, it seems,” says astronaut Jeremy Hansen. “He did a great job in that movie. It’s wonderful to see people really leaning into those roles. I thought it was just such an inspirational example, and somebody who goes out there and just gets what was done to save humanity. It’s a pretty extraordinary example that we can all follow. We all thought that movie was really uplifting and inspiring.” variety.com/2026/film/news…

This may offend some of you, but I mostly dislike overtly Christian entertainment. I find most of it a betrayal of both art and witness. Instead, I'd love to see a return of movies like Project Hail Mary that are quietly, subtly Christian. So subtle that you sometimes don't even realize you're being witnessed to. As an atheist kid growing up in a secular country, the only theology I got was from Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. Star Wars introduced me to a tangible sort of spirituality (oh, how my heart ached for it) while The Lord of the Rings subtly poured the very soul of Christianity into my heart so that when I finally encountered the gospels it already felt familiar to me. There is great value in this kind of entertainment. It's almost paradoxical, but putting storytelling and art first produces a far more powerful Christian witness than putting the messaging front and center. (This is why so most "woke" entertainment fails.) Check out my article below if you wanna read my review of Project Hail Mary and how it's a Christian movie. open.substack.com/pub/sarahsalvi…
