Last night @Philip_Goff described his experience of psychedelic drugs and belief in heretical Christianity to William Lane Craig at the Royal Institution

I do not understand what billionaires think the final outcome of all this is. If nobody has a living wage, they cannot buy your products, pay for your services, or rent the properties being owned and hoarded. At that point, does the whole thing not just collapse?

Where were you when you first realized that nature has no particular goal in view, that final causes are mere human figments, & that the doctrine that God acts for the sake of goals does away with the perfection of God? I was at a demolition derby in Kentucky.

The first time was incredible, but my peak was probably an all-night marathon viewing of the entire trilogy at @PhoenixPH in Oxford circa 2004. They also had Middle Earth themed beer and wine to keep us going through the evening.

Humans keep gaining more knowledge and experience as we live longer, but because physical strength and cognitive abilities decline, the sweet spot is probably somewhere in our 30s to 40s. If we could overcome ageing, would we just keep getting smarter forever with age?

@CryptTheRapper As an agnostic I tend to see Christianity weaponised for evil nowadays far more than I see it used for good, so its nice to know that the religion is still serving its intended purpose for some people

My relationship and belief in Christ has given me 10x more comfort and strength to persevere than any person, therapist, or activity has ever come close to giving me. I’m not being preachy or telling anyone what to do, just want to share that with anyone looking for answers.

a depressingly high percentage of people are more interested in finding and maintaining belonging in a community than making sure their beliefs about morality, society, and religion make sufficient sense and are willing to sacrifice the latter for the sake of the former.
