🥷 POLLOCK THE PILLAGER
Lots of fallacies are made about Pollock shying away from the hard graft.
However, it couldn't be further from the truth.
He is making the most turnovers per 80 in the PREM by quite some way!

@runliftrunlift I ran a 1:50 half marathon time, my easy runs are usually about 6:30km 🤔 not easy enough?

You can and should run a lot slower in training than in your races.
Yesterday I was chatting with a runner I coach. We are trying to narrow down his upcoming half marathon goal pace window, somewhere between 1:50–2:00.
He expressed some uncertainty about being able to hold a 5:20–5:40/km pace (8:35–9:07/mi), as his easy runs have been over 7:00/km (11:16/mi), though getting faster.
I showed him the training of another athlete I coach, Lee, who ran a 1:45 half marathon (5:00/km | 8:03/mi) last fall while doing almost all of his easy runs at over 7:00/km (11:16/mi) pace. Lee trusted the process and felt amazing on race day.
Simply put, if your race pace is not significantly faster than your easy pace, your training is not optimal. It might feel good for the ego to run daily miles faster, but the best feeling of all is nailing your race. That requires humility in training.
Jog slow, walk if necessary, do occasional hard workouts, race fast. That is the way.

“Pollock, to me, is like Bobby Skinstad. Good looking, always got a sun tan and can play. But he’s one of those blokes who play for 20 minutes. He’s one of those players who finds himself in the right position but he’s not a grind player.” Eddie Jones on Rugby Unity podcast

@TightFive_Rugby Finn should be wearing the 10 shirt and we should be building towards the world cup with him

A real show of faith in Arundell from Borthwick…
Think Lawrence back into the centres is the right move.
I think Borthwick also realised he did in fact make a mistake with Fin Smith in the 23 shirt.
Expecting a massive one from Tom Curry, who sort of had that starting spot taken from him, but this is a big chance to wrestle that back.

@runliftrunlift This year has been horrible so far to train in, constantly wet, just keep telling myself it could be like this on race day so training in will only benefit me 😅
