I missed you quietly today. So quietly that no one noticed. I missed you as I climbed out of bed and as I brushed my teeth; when I waited at the lights on the drive into work and as I heard the rain outside my window. I missed you as I ordered lunch and as I kicked off my shoes when I got home; as I switched off the lights and climbed into bed for the night. I missed you without tears or noise or fanfare. But oh how I felt it. I felt it in the morning, at lunchtime, in the evening and at night. I felt it as I woke, as I waited, as I worked. I felt it at home, on the road, in the light, in the dark, in the rain. I felt it in every one of those moments, each one sitting heavier and heavier as the weight of me missing you kept growing and growing. Yes, I missed you so quietly today. But I felt it so loudly.

@ldbgcoleman @latterdaylaura I don’t care on missing out on them watching coco melon and pooping all over themselves. I also said I would help to some degree but taking care of young babies and toddlers is women’s primary job and domain that’s why only women can breast feed and birth babies.

My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.

@MrEnlightened9 @latterdaylaura Worst take ever. I gather Mr Enlightened is a joke? So many men complain to me about how they miss their kids when they were little now that they’re adults. I think it is just because they weren’t there for it. That regret you don’t get to do over.

This only applies to the woman, when I have kids with my girl I’m not gonna be around that much for the younger years that’s her job. I’m not changing diapers or playing dress up or watching coco melon. I will have better more important things to do. It’s women’s job to nurture breast feed and tend to young children primarily. Of course I will help a little and be there but my primary job will be to make money and keep lights on. Not my job to babysit and entertain toddlers

@latterdaylaura This was me for a long time but I’m not sure I agree 100%. Kids need2know their parents are people with a relationship&needs. You model how that works & the value of interests. When we travelled we do our thing in the morning (a gallery or site) & their thing in the afternoon…
