It’s great to see another business opening downtown! Congratulations to Lauren, Drew, and their family on the launch of Slightly Crooked Pies at 1209 Elm St. What began as a home baking endeavor has grown into a successful business, and their delicious pies are a welcome addition to our city’s vibrant downtown. I wish them continued success and can’t wait to see all the pies they share with Manchester!

Last night, I released my FY27 Budget. I firmly believe governing requires balance, recognizing that families must live within their means, our City must do the same. This budget meets our challenges head-on, with targeted cuts in spending, a focus on affordability, protection of core services, and fundamental reforms to make government more efficient and protect taxpayers. Happy Greek Independence Day! Today, our community gathered outside City Hall to celebrate the 205th anniversary of Greece’s independence and to honor the rich culture and contributions of Manchester’s Greek community.

A great morning at Catholic Medical Center celebrating the opening of their new EP-2 Electrophysiology Lab. This investment will strengthen the hospital’s ability to diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmias, expanding access to advanced care for our community. Thank you to everyone who made this possible and for your continued commitment to keeping Manchester healthy.

It was a pleasure to join our seniors today for a Community Dining lunch with Meals on Wheels. These gatherings go beyond a meal, supporting the health, well-being, and independence of our senior residents. Thank you to the volunteers, partners, and Meals on Wheels for all their support.

Child Care is now the second-highest expense for families, only behind housing. This isn’t just a family issue, it’s a workforce, economic and livability issue for our entire City. Today we held our first meeting of our Commission on Child Care, a step toward expanding access, supporting early educators and strengthening our workforce. Please see the release below.

I’m proud to recognize Elliot Hospital and Health System on the completion of its new ICU Step-Down Unit — a 12-bed facility that enhances the level of care available to patients transitioning from intensive care. This milestone reflects a continued investment in the health and well-being of our community. It was an honor to support the Friends of Aine Gala last night. Their efforts provide life changing opportunities for children and families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Their programs help ensure families know they’re not alone, and we thank them for their work in Manchester and across the state.

I was honored to welcome Mayor Shiow-Yen Lu of Taichung City, Taiwan to Manchester yesterday. Our cities have shared a Sister City relationship for many years, and it was a wonderful opportunity to reaffirm the strong friendship between Manchester and Taichung.

Yesterday, I joined our DPW team to help patch potholes around the city. If you spot one, please report it through Manchester NH Connect: manchesternh.gov/residents/manc… or by downloading the Manchester NH Connect app (pictured below at the end of video). Using the SeeClickFix feature, you can report potholes quickly and easily. This helps our team respond faster and keep Manchester moving smoothly. Thank you to our dedicated DPW staff for all their hard work!

It was great to welcome students from Smyth Road Elementary to my office before last night’s Board of School Committee meeting. They were particularly excited to sit in the Mayor’s chair! They did a great job leading the Pledge of Allegiance to start the meeting. Thank you to School Board Members Taylor and Parr for joining us.

Last night, I had the honor of recognizing Robert Singer as Citizen of the Year. Manchester is incredibly lucky to have someone like Robert who continues to give so much back to our community. His leadership, generosity, and commitment to helping others have made our city a stronger and better place for everyone. Thank you, Robert, for all that you do for Manchester — this recognition is well deserved. And thank you to the Greater Manchester Chamber for hosting a wonderful event and for bringing our community together to celebrate those who make a difference.

It was great to join the team at Caesario’s for their ribbon cutting as they officially return to downtown Manchester. It’s awesome to see this local favorite back where it belongs. Caesario’s has been serving up delicious pizza, fries, and great food for years, and their return is another great sign of the energy and momentum we’re seeing in our downtown. Local businesses like this are part of what makes Manchester special. If you’re downtown, stop in, grab a slice, and help welcome them back!

This morning, I visited a second-grade class at McDonough Elementary School to celebrate Read Across America Day. I read Green Eggs and Ham with the students, and they kept me on my toes with some great questions and lots of enthusiasm for the story. Thank you for having me! #readacrossamerica
