NEW: Fairfax County School Board cuts Veterans Day as a student holiday, but keeps Indigenous Peoples' Day.
The board votes 8–1 to remove the holiday as part of a push to reduce disrupted school weeks and give families more consistency.
Indigenous Peoples' Day stays on the calendar after a separate vote fails.
The decision is already stirring backlash — especially in a region with a large military and veteran community.

A Democrat Congresswoman accuses RFK Jr. of saying black kids on ADHD meds should be “re-parented.” RFK Jr. says he has no idea what she’s talking about and asks to hear the recording. And then this happened: TERRI SEWELL: “Have you ever ‘re-parented’... a black child?” KENNEDY: “I don’t even know what that phrase means, and I doubt that I said it.” SEWELL: “Yes or no answer.” KENNEDY: “I doubt that I said that phrase.” SEWELL: “You absolutely said it.” KENNEDY: “No, I’m not going to answer something that I didn’t say.” SEWELL: “You absolutely said it.” KENNEDY: “I’d like to hear the recording. Our country was set up to avoid exactly this. We are NOT a pure democracy. And we are not a pure democracy so that those who live in the urban areas can’t lord over those in distant rural areas.

🚨 Justice Alito just exposed the core flaw in unlimited birthright citizenship.
During SCOTUS arguments, Alito hammered the key question:
If anyone who sneaks into the U.S. illegally can have a child here and automatically grant that child American citizenship — with full rights and no allegiance required — then who really controls who becomes a citizen?
The country… or the people who break our laws to get here?
This isn’t just a legal technicality. It’s about whether America still has the sovereign right to decide its own future — or if the 14th Amendment has been twisted into an open invitation that collapses our entire immigration system.
Alito’s questioning cut straight to the heart: In a world of 8 billion people, one plane flight away from U.S. soil, automatic citizenship regardless of lawful presence or loyalty turns the Constitution into a suicide pact.

Out of 36 five day school weeks in @fcpsnews this year, only 16 of those weeks will students be in school Monday through Friday. This is beyond words pathetic. Parents - do something or it’ll never change. The school board believes you don’t care.

FCPS still doesn’t get it. They want to cancel national holidays like Veterans Day instead of removing the endless “teacher workdays” and “student holidays.” Maybe they need 1,000 more consultants making 3x a teacher salary.

🚨WATCH: Parents are furious after they say a male student, who is in the country illegally, groped several girls in between their legs in the hallway at Fairfax High School in Virginia. The male student will be 19-years-old soon. ICE says he crossed the southern border in 2024. He’s charged with nine counts of assault and battery, a misdemeanor. But some parents I spoke to want him to be charged with sexual assault.
