When FIFA opened the last phase of 2026 World Cup ticket sales on Wednesday, many fans were left frustrated by long waits, technical glitches and hiked prices — with a Category 1 ticket to the final now topping $10,000. The so-called “last-minutes sales phase” is the first in which fans have been able to purchase tickets on a first come, first served basis, without entering a lottery or receiving special access. After waiting 30 minutes in the queue, I gave up. I'm resigned to watching it all on TV, even though I'm a 20 minute walk from BC Place. As much as I was looking forward to, and excited about having the World Cup in my city, I'm now not so much. I knew getting tickets would be difficult, and figured they would be quite pricey, but not to the extent both were. Pretty disappointing all around.

Anyone get World Cup tickets in new window this morning? As a FYI, had a nose around and they only have Cat 1 and 2 tickets left for Round of 16 game at BC Place. The Cat 2 was $985. To put that into perspective, the Cat 1 for the Round of 16 the day before in Seattle is $970!
