@FILWD .. we have a paper under review related to your quadrants, on role of user expectations in creating explanations, results show users explicitly report higher satisfaction if the prediction of AI-system was what they expected, even if the-system output and users were both wrong…

What do you think? Is this a useful in any way? I am looking for feedback to write an essay or paper on it. Is there anything related to this I should read?

Tentative idea: the "Machine Learning Dissonance Model". In predictive human-centered ML humans have their mental model (HU) and machines have their internal ML model (ML). There are 4 possible situations according to whether ML and HU agree or disagree in their predictions.
