One of the affects of having been a police officer (not exclusive to policing) is that you do see somethings differently to others. I hate Easter BH weekend, because bad things always happen on this weekend. Bad people know it’s a time of least available resource.

Just realised today is my 24th year with the NHS, clearly I started as a child! There’s been lots of changes over the years, and big changes over the next few months but ready for whatever is coming next! Time flies when you’re having fun 🤩

Today I became a member of a very prestigious group of international health professionals that set guidance for patients with specific cancers. I am the only UK nurse to do so. I am slightly shocked I was accepted.

I have finished my first research article that I want to publish in a prominent medical journal. I left school at 16, no exams, told I work not clever, at 29 went to night school, did GCSEs, then open access course, got into nursing, did a Diploma, then a BSc, then MSc.

I’m back to work tomorrow after being off for two and a half weeks. I’m a little anxious, bag packed, clothes sorted. My job is really stressful and is full of complex discussions, sometimes very difficult. I have tight deadlines, reports to write, shutting off can be hard.

Wow. Been a busy week with work. I even got to attend the House of Lords to give a briefing (and then a tour of both houses by a peer). Nice to be home and having a cup of tea in front of a warm fire though #NoPlaceLikeHome
