@DavidEn24539628 @KenKirtland17 We weren’t talking about starship, but since you brought it up. Starship isn’t flying people, emphasis on human lives, to a multi billion dollar space station.

@KenKirtland17 Also worth remembering that Starship has yet to have a clean orbital flight without losing multiple engines.

It’s worth remembering Starliner has yet to ever have a clean test. Pad Abort - failed parachute OFT-1 - the big one (too much to list) OFT-2 - service module 2 year delay due to service module issues, thruster issues on orbit CFT - ongoing (leaks, thruster issues)

The future space station projects which will replace the ISS will all be built differently from the ISS. The shuttle could carry components up and assemble the station, but station modules being built today all need their own propulsion, power, attitude control & guidance so they can either be self reliant, or, maneuver to their final destination. That’s how the soviet stations were built, and that’s how China’s station was built. Until there’s a space tug that can deliver dumb station modules after reaching orbit the ISS is going to be unique in this respect.

@MaxQRockets @dsshhh114 Patents suggest that the ropes will be waiting at quite some distance then tighten in once the booster is sufficiently close and final trajectory though the net is certain. A tolerance likely comparable to leg landing and the ropes can also help to centre the booster once landed.

The reusable Long March 10 launch vehicle for low-Earth orbit will use a rope recovery ship to recover the rocket, it was revealed.

@Oldscho20031321 @Teslaconomics @elonmusk Did they make it to orbit? No. It’s a 3rd attempt at an orbital flight. Yes they learned, but the system failed to get to orbit and that’s okay

@SX_Falcon_5 @ValsAerospace I would agree with this, but at the same time, isn’t how this entire program has gone? I’m finding hard to be surprised lately, lol

@ValsAerospace At this point I’m wondering if B7 and S24 were even originally intended to fly, or if they were pathfinders forced into flight. It’s very clear that B9 and S27 are manufactured to a far higher standard.

Defending SpaceX employees, in no way slandering Elon, (who yes, has made significant contributions), and then I get this… I’m tired of you internet 😒

@MaxQRockets @MihulkaS @Cmdr_Hadfield Has he ever said that he singlehandedly built SpaceX rockets? Credit should be given to him for the financial sacrifice, dedication and vision. He sourced and recruited the best team after doing the early R&D. Read about his trial and mockery at the hands of Roscosmos!

@MihulkaS @Cmdr_Hadfield And he didn’t single-handedly build the rocket. 1,000s of people contributed to it for hours and hours of their day. Get out of your convoluted head man

For those who feel @SpaceX's Starship test flight didn't go well, here are the very first flights of the F-14 and F-16. The test pilots survived.
