A nice new @PAINthejournal review from @head_like_egg shows that central sensitization questionnaires do not capture pain sensitivity test responses, but I'm left wondering if either actually measure "central sensitization"? 🤔 journals.lww.com/pain/Abstract/…

@micahgallen The only project I’ve ever worked on with a reinforcement learning paradigm used a chequerboard. We planned to use fractal images, but found out that a chequerboard was easier to program in. 😅 It worked fine as far as I can tell 🤷🏼‍♀️🙃

Curious to hear opinions on different choices of cue stimuli in cue-stimulus reinforcement learning tasks. Fractals? Kanjis? Tones? Arbitrary objects/animals/etc? Some are harder to learn (e.g., fractals), but others may have prepotent associations (objects, tones, etc).

@HarperOfScience Tough critique! 😅 I get excited by all the work coming on interoceptive processes. I feel like studying the predictive brain is getting us closer to understanding pain, not just nociception. Though understanding nociception and it’s central modulation has surely helped, no? 🤔
