Just throwing this out there: The highlight of my day was a call with @LocalThunk to congratulate him on the @BalatroGame nominations. A single dev who made a GOTY nominee! That's part of what makes this industry so great.

The office now has a 3D printer, which some of my coworkers are enthusiastically using. Me? Can't think of a damn thing I want printed.

@manfightdragon Fair. Weird issue, though. When I'm home, I have to use my 4G tether which goes very unreliable at night. (Being in regional Australia isn't all that great at times).

@MerricB I have another computer but that has the same issue. I'm not really willing to try it on my 4G tether, I'd rather just wait for PS5 code to come through instead.

@tgutierrez94580 Going to actual history, weather and seasons can also give reasons for delays. You don't invade Russia in the winter, for instance. :)

@tgutierrez94580 And the actual ticking clock requires some useful information. Big boss saying "You have two weeks to submit, or I invade." Or a spy indicating the enemy army is building up, so you have 2 weeks until it is ready.

I have never played a Persona game. But the games I played last year that have (apparently) prepared me for how combat works in Metaphor: ReFantazio? Final Fantasy I-V. (Pixel Remasters).

@optionalrule Yep. And it's definitely accurate for most of them. ...but CRPGs share a lot of DNA with D&D, so I understand entirely why the term sticks.

@MerricB Gygax had an interesting PoV on this. He stated CRPGs cannot be RPGs because you are not playing to anyone. He believed that an RPG emerged from the interaction between people.

In the computer space, I don't think anyone quite agrees what an RPG is. Whenever I see a definition, it is generally employed to say this game is NOT a CRPG. Ergo, there are no computer RPGs.

Yeah. I might even think about producing something now. (Though when you get down to it, I'm mostly disengaged as a creator these days).

@mysterywisc Back a while ago, my state had a premier named Jeff. Which made the Duchy of Geoff doubly amusing when I was running games in it at the time!
