@_JasonLT This became moot when the Spurs racked up wins by utilizing undersized 4’s (HB and now Jules), but it is still a major need. If the Spurs fail to win the chip, it’s going to be because of lack of a) experience b) depth at the 4/5. NOT, losing the last regular season game.

@_JasonLT For the circumstances of this game specifically, If you want to cast blame, it boils down to the offseason and not obtaining a solid 4. People forget that this is why the fan base was divided in trading Steph/Dylan for someone like Giannis.

This keeps getting dumber the more I think about it. The Spurs this season were -7.1 net in 1317 possessions with both Wemby and Kornet off the floor, and they healthy scratched them both in their most important regular season game. An impossible level of stupidity.

That's where the rule feels off. Maybe it needs another layer, like 2100+ minutes played. Because workload matters too. Or… Wemby's just that good 👽

Cade Cunningham’s case is the most unfortunate. A collapsed lung is so far from a true basketball injury, yet it’s the reason for his ineligibility. But regarding the rest: It’s almost as if the #Spurs put Victor Wembanyama on a minutes restriction, brought him off the bench, etc. after his calf injury INTENTIONALLY. In order to preserve his long-term health. The team is good enough to survive without him, which made that approach sensible. Now, they’re 62-19 AND Wembanyama is healthy, while other stars who have been run into the ground minutes-wise all season have sat out weeks at a time, and may even miss part of the postseason. I think the league should add a total minutes threshold that can also warrant award eligibility. But that’s for later. Stop trying to point at Victor’s minutes as if it’s unfair for him to be award eligible. He’s done more than enough in the time he’s played to warrant all of the recognition he’ll receive. #PorVida
