@diamondbuses The new 98 timetable to Heartlands hospital is clearly not working. The 17:37 from heartlands vanished and the next one at 18:13 is running late. I just want to get home.

@nxwestmidlands This evening you have excelled yourselves cancelling the 18:11 AND the 18:40 from Heartlands Hospital Yardley Green Road. A whole hour waiting in the drizzle to get on a stinky (literally) bus at 19:11.

I wasn’t sure about the last speaker, but the rest of the day had lots of interesting info, food for thought and things to discuss with my colleagues back in the lab. Thanks @biainfection #BIATraineesDay2024

I know about 'earworms' (tunes you keep repeating in your head) but last few days I've had a word (a name) like that. A wordworm in fact. It's Poughkeepsie. I've never been there, haven't had cause to read it, or hear anyone say it. My wordworm.Over and over again. Poughkeepsie.

@NocardiB I started my career at the anaerobe ref lab many moons ago. It was a really good experience. Just remember to call them the anaerobe reference lab not the anaerobic reference lab. They were very particular about the fact that they were operating in an aerobic laboratory 😂

I another have a job interview next week in Cardiff at the Anaerobic Reference lab… I think after 5 years in Swansea it is definitely time for a change of scenery and one I am most certainly ready for. it’s closer to home, better work/life balance, no weekends or on calls

Question lovely tweeples. Is there anything you would like to know about healthcare microbiology? No question is stupid. And maybe I can’t answer you because it’s almost a never ending subject. Or are there any pictures you would like to see? #Microbiology #Learning

@josealf59009670 We look at anything infectious, whether that’s viral (Covid), bacterial (ear infection), parasites. We get all different samples from patients from blood to sputum. We identify the pathogens and if bacterial identify antibiotic sensitivity

@NocardiB I have a 9-5 Mon-Fri lab job, but I went down to 9 days a fourtnight. Having about 25 extra “Saturdays” a year to get boring things done so my actual Saturdays can be fun is very nice.

One of the things I dialike most about being a BMS is missing events because I have to go into work. Just heading off to start my on-call so I’m stuck on site til 8 and feeling very jealous of those who attended Cardiff pride today. As soon as I get my band six I’m contemplating going less than full time so I can actually start to enjoy my life a bit more 😂
