Is it possible to breed insects to be bigger? Has anyone tried? For example, there are people who love pill bugs (they call them isopods) and they breed them to have all sorts of different colors and metallic shines. That's really cool and all .... BUT......they're really tiny and barely visible. I have a lot of friends who have them and every time I go to their houses, they're always super proud to show me their tiny ass creatures. They dig around in the tank dirt and point to some tiny speck of color and you basically have to smile nod and pretend that you see it. So my obvious question, is that if you can breed these insects to be hot pink and metallic, or have incredible colors, what's keeping you from making them larger and more visible? Like I'm not talking about making them huge,.. I know that there's physics constraints on their size because of the internal anatomy. But maybe even just a little bit larger? Like even 15% larger would help. God forbid you have poor vision or is over 40.
