One of the interesting things about the Amalee controversy is I think most of the people defending her bad take are literally children cause they keep saying "Amalee has been doing this for an eternity! People weren't even alive when she started!" Brother, it's been a little over decade. We were all alive and active online before she started. People are also accidentally confirming her take is 100% tourist central cause whenever someone criticizes it, they all dog pile them shouting "why are you calling her a tourist!" when no one actually said that. Little Freudian slip on your part? Maybe? At the end of the day being "in" a community for a long the doesn't exclude you from not really being into it and constantly citing that she gets paid to be here is not actually helping you case. Like no one cares that she's done English VA work, most actual anime fans despise English dubs

@TigerfestivalZ Japanese games that have put out numbers in the past have shown that over 80% of English speakers instantly switch to JP voices. People can cope all they want but the English dub market is a minority by a long shot.

Admitting JarJar was resoundingly hated is not exclusive to also admitting the Prequels were actually really well liked at the time they came out. He was literally 1 character and immediately shoved out the door after Episode 1 but the way people talk about him you'd think he's in every single scene for all 3 movies.
