Some charming transportation collages by my @Ridgeway_WP first grade artists! We reviewed geometric shapes, and had a lot of scissor practice cutting and assembling shapes to form images of different vehicles 🚗 🛵🛳️

Nothing sweeter than opening up the kiln to a sea of beautiful @Ridgeway_WP first grade pinch pots 🫶 these artists did such a great job glazing- look at those colors !!!! 🌈

+ some more & a peak into their process! In layer 1, they created an under painting of their foreground, mid, and background by painting tints and shades to show value. Then they used chalk pastel techniques to emphasize a mood in their artwork with color 🎨🖼️

Todays sketchbook assignment was to make a color wheel. Student said they just noticed that colors that are opposite of each other are always used in advertising. Needless to say I got excited & we talked about colors effect on our subconscious. #WeAreChappaqua #WeArtChappaqua

And they’re done 👏 proud of my third grade artists for the hard work they’ve put in over the last few weeks- drawing 3D buildings, learning how to create a relief print, as well as adding to and modifying their prints

The fluctuating weather has been inspiring in 3rd grade art! Students chose a special building 🏡 for their printmaking project. After reading a poem&talking about weather, times of day&seasons changing- they began adding details to their prints! Check out these works in progress

@Ridgeway_WP 3rd gr artists chose a place that feels like home to them or designed a home of their own! After learning how to draw 3D shapes, they drew their special place and created a printmaking plate! Check out their first round of prints. More details to come
