Thanks to the amazing team from @UoS_Medicine and @MRC_LEU at @unisouthampton science and engineering festival #SOTSEF for a great day measuring grip strength and demonstrating how diet/exercise influences muscle health via epigenetics. There were many interesting discussions.

Prof Phillips added: "Engaging policy makers is key in building 'mission orientated' research. "Social scientists can help understand inequalities from a lifecourse perspective to critically analyse the social side of muscle loss, stereotypes and place based implications. "

Prof Judith Phillips OBE, from the University of Stirling said: "It's great to see @MyAgeNetwork use a lot of co-production in the Roadmap. "Social scientists can set the research questions, helping to build theory, develop relationships and evidence based solutions."

Thanks to @MyAgeNetwork for the invitation to speak at the launch of their roadmap this morning. A really important culmination of 2 years of work and chimes with many of the key messages of @physoc.

Dr Kambiz Alavian from @imperialcollege and the @MyAgeNetwork Management Group said: "This is a very exciting time to be doing ageing research. We have many fantastic opportunities to make a difference in later life. We're ambitiously building capacity in the UK and abroad."
