Hytale WorldGen V2 Journey [Day 5] It was a day spent looking at Hytale's sample projects. - For the project I had in mind, I needed to learn “Twist,” so I started researching using Hytale's own “Example” file. Most of my time was spent testing whether this was even possible. - I'm still weak in the Density section, so working on twists was a very wrong choice for someone who hasn't fully grasped the “cause-and-effect” logic behind it. - Looking at Hytale's sample projects, I realized once again how much I was lacking. I can easily understand the Prop and MaterialProvider branches. Probably because I did too much “delete and recreate.” - For the next 3 days, I'll just try to understand the logic of Density and its filters and reinforce this on different Zones. Different Zones, because they all have their own unique properties. This will broaden my use of Density. “Simple-Difficult”

Let's go over another category in the Hytale New Worlds Modding Contest! 🤖 NPCs 🤖 Bring life to Hytale! Create or update NPCs - critters, enemies, or boss fights - with behaviors players will remember. Push the asset configuration system to its limits. Just like our WorldGen V2 tech, no coding knowledge is required! As a fun example, you could use our Combat Action Evaluator to build an NPC party of adventurers that can show teamwork similar to players (with a healer, DPS, tank, etc.). Emotes are coming to Hytale with this week's pre-release update, including easy mod support! Here's the mod structure to add emotes to the game: - Place your emote animation (.blockyanim) in Common\Characters\Animations\Emote\ - Place your emote icon (.png) in Common\Icons\Emotes\ - Create your emote config (.json) in Server\Emote\ (replace "MyEmoteName" with the name of your new emote) An emote config looks like the following: { "Animation": "Characters/Animations/Emote/MyEmoteName.blockyanim", "Name": "My Emote Name", "Icon": "Icons/Emotes/MyEmoteName.png", "IsLooping": true } With that done, you'll now be able to see your emotes in-game! In the future, we'll improve the emote wheel so you can customize it.

Quick note on Hytale QoL in Early Access! We're currently working on many changes, and thanks to all your feedback and suggestions, we have a much better idea of where to prioritize! Some of the changes we're shipping are quick ones that solve real pain points today, even when we know they aren't the long-term answer. The way you play today is going to look very different a year from now. A lot of the manual work you're doing right now is meant to be solved through deeper, interconnected game systems over time. So every QoL decision we make today, we're weighing against where things are headed. Building those deeper systems takes time though, and that's the tradeoff we're trying to balance. That said, we're not going to let you struggle with the basics while we develop it all! Some upcoming QoL changes in Early Access will be temporary by design, and we'll do our best to communicate that as we go. As the game's systems get deeper, some of those early QoL will need to change, and when they do, we'll always aim to replace them with something equal or better through real gameplay. This way of thinking actually lets us ship QoL faster, as long as everyone understands that some of it may change down the road when better systems take its place. I've been researching Hytale's caves, and I've found some neat things underneath the Whisperfrost Frontiers that I never noticed in exploration mode. Like this beautiful spiral tree, a mammoth fossil frozen in the ice, as well as long stretches of ocean caves.
