Still Know this, know this, O Child of God That your beloved elder brother Is battered, broken within the tomb Know that He is God Striped and scourged by your sin Pure blood now long poured out His suff'ring cries now ceased Know that He is God The flow of Living Waters halts The Word, Our Lord, the Son of Man He is still, but still, you know it Know that He is God As God now rests yet rests in cave You too shall rest then rest in grave Return to dust from whence you came Confront this truth and feel the blame Know that He is God Sorrow He did bear for you His anguish liberating Understand this was His plan Know that He is God Though still this tears the heart apart What sense is there in slaughtered Son? Yet still you live, though still is He Be still and know that He is God

Have a blessed Good Friday. The first thing God called good was creation. The day He made us, He appraised it as very good. Then, the fall. Creation was still good, but broken. Christ was broken on the cross to start an unstoppable restoration. To make it very good again.

It’s frustrating watching Christian vtubers and streamers with large platforms miss the heart of Jesus again and again—and do so with complete confidence, followed by dozens of replies cheering it on.

@PhrogPollenYT A custom-picked bouquet from my future wife would make my week. ...I'd also then sheepishly probably have to hand them back to her and ask where she thinks they'd be best displayed in the home - my aesthetic sense is anemic at best.

@PetRockTherapy @DrFrankTurek Ah. Understood. I'm not particularly interested in conversations with individuals who assume my motives (and a little more wildly, my ancestry). Have a blessed Good Friday! I'll be praying for you.

@ParagonicRay @DrFrankTurek White Anglo-Saxon people claiming divine intervention as a result of prayer leans very heavily into the view that other people just don't deserve their children to live and thrive as they do. Your claim of superiority is inherent in your post.

Does prayer change things?

@PetRockTherapy @DrFrankTurek I'm afraid I'm not following your point. I'm certainly making no claims of superiority. I also did not intend to imply that a prayer habit guarantees I live another day. The numbers on child starvation are heartbreaking. We should be making every effort to reduce that suffering.

@ParagonicRay @DrFrankTurek And what about the 20,000 children who starve to death each day? Are you saying you're better than their parents?

It is explicitly the nations - not the "whole world" - who will bow before the returning King. God created the nations. I'd go so far as to say He delights in their distinctions. Each of them has something unique to bring to Christianity. If God loves our nations, so should we!

@Darkstalight @DrFrankTurek By aligning my will to His; i.e. making me more like Him. More practically, by producing within me love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Tools which let me navigate life better and reach out a hand to those also struggling.

A lot happened on the first Maundy Thursday, but it's named for one of them in particular. "Maundy" is from the Latin for "mandate", referring to Christ's new commandment. To love each other as He loved us. Of everything that happened that day, this was the most important.

WE'RE GOING TO THE MOON AGAIN! Once more pushing out into that fantastical next frontier in creation. Thank God for a flawless launch. I'm so excited to see what more we have to discover out there.

Hear me out: committing to the bit is reflective of God's character. God made something that brought Him joy - us - and rather than abandon us when we started looking iffy in the middle there, He doubled down. The result was yet greater joy. If it's joyful, hold it tight!

The Psalmist said it first, but God's really got us surrounded, huh? The Father in heaven, watching over creation. The Son who walked the earth and will walk it again. The Holy Spirit which dwells within. Above, beside, and within. Where indeed can we flee from His presence?

Moses gave the Law, Christ fulfilled it. Aaron atoned for the sins of the people year after year, Christ did so once and for all. Joshua conquered the Promised Land, Christ is conquering the world. The Prophets (and angels!) spoke the Word of God, Jesus is the Word of God.

I just think too many of y'all want Christianity without the discipleship, without evangelism, without grace, without mercy, without carrying your cross, and without radical transformation. And if that's your Christianity, well...it doesn't sound very Christian at all.

Hey Hey Hey, Imago Dei! No streams this week as I take the time to reflect, recharge, and revere (which are all kinda the same thing). Have a blessed Holy Week!

@Kitsol20XX Nope! Every man counted righteous in scripture (besides Big J) had done something awful. Adultery, murder, etc. They were saved by grace through faith. As will you be. My prayer for you is that you stop believing the lie from the Enemy that grace somehow doesn't apply to you.

pray for me that the Lord will remove His grace towards me and remove. idc if i am going to hell i just want people to remove me, i want God to remove in this life so i can be judged and be in hell for eternity and torment as justice from the Lord. thats all i want and the purpose i have only. i rather not be redeemed and saved but forever to be condemned for everything i done and cause issues towards everyone including towards Christ.

@J2SMOOTHZ I'm sorry to hear that! If that's a discussion you'd be willing to have, I'm all ears. We can certainly hash it in the public square, though I find the Xitter format not particularly conducive to meaningful discussion. My DMs are always open! In any case, have a blessed day!

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds cried Hosanna - "save us!". He came to save them, absolutely. But not how they expected. Many of them would reject Him. The same is true today. Christ may not work in the way we want... but His way works. Cry Hosanna. Let Him work.
