Yesterday we did the @newtechnetwork card called The Best Answer protocol and added our work to our growing poetry PBL board. This was a great protocol that I’m definitely going to use again! It made the kids really think & used so many deeper learning skills! #ParksideDreamTeam

I adapted a problem from @nrichmaths to introduce our lesson on 2-d shapes. It ended up being trickier than I expected, but there was lots of great thinking happening as partners discussed which shapes to put in the empty boxes. #thinkingclassroom #parksidedreamteam

We read the book Mirror Mirror by Marilyn Singer, and then students made their own reverso poems. Our minds were blown, and these kids are amazing poets! 🤯🤯🤯 #ParksideDreamTeam

We tried out some new recording sheets from the book Choral Counting and Counting Collections today. These firsties did a great job finding the total of two collections. #countingcollections #ParksideDreamTeam #1LISD

After given diff. types of soil to explore, they placed a sticky on which one they think plants would grow the best in. Heard “my mom uses this one!” “I don’t see plants grow at the beach.” Even by the end some ended up switching over their sticky notes after our discussion! 🪴

We celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by wearing crazy socks and learning more about Down Syndrome. #worlddownsyndromeday @Parkside_ES
