1 John 2:1-2 describes exactly what Jesus is doing right now. "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. Jesus, seated at the Father's right hand, serves as our Advocate (like a defense attorney or intercessor). When we sin as believers, He doesn't abandon us—He pleads our case based on His perfect righteousness and finished work on the cross (His propitiation/atoning sacrifice). This isn't begging a reluctant God; it's presenting His own blood and righteousness on our behalf, securing ongoing fellowship and forgiveness. It's deeply comforting and amazing: the risen Christ lives to intercede for us constantly (Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34). He knows every failure yet stands for us. That's active grace today.
