@justjon_lol Appreciate the response Jon, thank you! Agree on the 45-1hr time comment too, I was trying to give a low estimate as the reality that those 16+ games actually take up 12-15 hours a day is scary!

The difficulty is you can't break down the game. It's not easy to drill in League as we have no sandbox mode so the only way to practice certain things is full games. That doesn't mean you should hundreds of them but it's the reason we don't train like any other sport in the world - we can't. G2 will have specific plans and goals for the scrim I'm 99% sure, they just don't share them publicly. But another point, which makes it worse though, is 30 minutes is a very low estimate in practice! It's probably closer 45 minutes or an hour. Queue time is longer too and champ select takes way longer than you expect. When we ever schedule soloq into a day (which I avoid whenever possible) I need to leave an hour per game in practice.

I'd love to hear the thoughts of this schedule from esports coaches and people who are far more knowledgeable than me. Taking a closer look throws up a lot of questions on how practical this actually was for a professional team. Thread below...

Even if it was physically possible, I doubt Man City would choose to only train using 11 v 11 games. So much of what they do on the pitch is developed off it and I just don't see where G2 could have had the time (or mental energy) left to do this in their schedule.

I've got the benefit of hindsight here, but those who know me know I think too many teams in esports just grind games with no real plan or focus. So it's sad to see such an elite team doing what looks like the same to me but I'm keen to learn the thinking behind it.
