@McRaeAndrew @danihpayne I share this graph often, but sadly facts on UK spend on HE are ignored and misrepresented. Even my colleagues are surprised by the low level of public investment against GDP and think it must be higher.

@danihpayne I see us below the OECD average spend on tertiary education, but I’m no expert. The key point for me above was that, as a result of the relatively recent changes to loan repayments, the state is now paying a very low %age of the cost of almost all courses, compared to graduates.

Plenty to say here - the govt spends little on uni degrees already etc - but it’s still shocking. Maybe the Tories’ greatest achievement in HE policy has been to seed the narrative, in the face of evidence to the contrary & practice internationally, that too many people go to uni

@EoCdt @emily_dowd_ Sadly I’ve had to leave now for a @LeedsDocCollege meeting but I managed to catch the postgraduate researcher presentations. Came away having learnt some things which is always my aim.
