@SpeechTherapist It’s in my queue, but no, haven’t watched it yet. I understand the gist of it though, especially having largely stepped away and found out for myself just how addictive they design all this to be.

I poke my head in here once in a while but my time away has made me understand just how great a medium social media can be to fuel anxiety and how terrible a medium it is (right now) to feel connected to others.

@SpeechTherapist It took me a bit to brave the deletion, and last year I took IG off my phone (I check on the browser sometimes). But their goal, for them all, is more time spent on the service (and thus more ad $$$), than any real connection.

This mini-thread PSA is basically to say: I miss blogs, and want to see more blogs. And that means I also miss blogging, and I include myself there as being remiss at blogging. So instead of tweeting more, I plan to blog more. And occasionally link them here for you, friends.

There’s entirely too much noise to make much sense of anything, and its bite-size bits of information and text and threads make critical thinking especially challenging.

All I can say is, FINALLY. There was ample opportunity and justification to suspend his account ages ago.

Added myself to the vaccination list for my state. I imagine I have lower priority as an outpatient provider in an independent private practice, but that plus my medical interpreting work has me hoping I hear something soon.

Ah, the perils of running your own website sometimes, when a routine update attempt throws a 502 wrench your way. But what a feeling when you finally figure it out and it’s back up and running once more. Whew.

@cmcniece Lol at the euphemism for voting early, but I’ll take it. We dropped off our ballots last week and it was a harrowing two days before getting notice that they were received and will be counted.

@cmcniece That’s a good point. Especially since the holdup is “it was telehealth” (despite it being advertised that that’s being covered since pandemic). So many issues, and normally this payer is pretty decent to work with.

One of the most challenging (and frustrating) parts of being indie and working with insurance is the time it takes to follow on insurance claims by phone. It’s a maze and incredibly inefficient. #SLPeeps #BizSLP
