The NHLPA has already said it failed Kyle Beach. The PA will now have to do investigation into how that happened without an interview with the former Chicago Blackhawk. Kyle talked to Jenner & Block investigators. His lawyer tells me she won't ok his participation in NHLPA probe.

Spoke today to sports marketing exec who told me multiple sponsors have "put the NHL on notice" to improve response to Blackhawks abuse scandal. NHL brand significantly tarnished over past week, exec says, adding some sponsors unhappy with league's crisis management.

When Steve Montador died suddenly at 35 years of age, the Montador family received condolences from the teams that Steve played for in the NHL. The Montadors never received any condolences from Gary Bettman. Steve’s brain was later found to have CTE.

If I was talking to NHL players today, I'd ask how they would feel about hoisting/drinking from the Stanley Cup knowing it features the name of a convicted sexual predator who has preyed on one of their own. (NHL won't respond to my questions about Aldrich's name on the Cup.)

Frederick Anderson, during his time in Toronto, was in front of one of the worst defences in hockey and was left on his own most nights. The second his body broke down, Leafs cut him lose. Anderson is 5-0 with Carolina.
