My generation has failed millions of young British men and women who now feel unable to raise a family in our country, in our home. Inflation. Housing. Immigration. Energy. Crime. Jobs. The last 30 years has been a catastrophic failure. It’s very easy for people of my age to sit in mortgage-free homes bought for a fraction of what it’s proportionately worth today and blame young Brits for the hole they find themselves in. I’m not going to do that. Yes, there are people taking the piss. They were when I was younger. The vast majority of young men and women in our country want to work hard, find their way in life and build a family. It is NOT their fault that inflation continues to soar, wages lag, the housing market is stacked against them, brutal energy costs drive up everything, their town centres are filthy with no opportunities, hard work is taxed to oblivion, millions of third world migrants are prioritised ahead of them. We force them through university for no good reason, then saddle them with outrageous interest which is essentially just another tax. That is not their fault. That is our fault. My generation should start taking some responsibility for the mess we have left. And we should start being honest about the pain required to fix it. Because we have had it easy, and our children and grandchildren will be the ones who have to pay for it - our eye-watering national debt is a shame on my generation. It is a genuine disgrace. A false reality, all propped up by borrowed and printed money. It’s a con. I feel guilty about it. I am trying to do something about it. It’s what Restore Britain is all about. To leave a better country than the one handed to us. A country where young men and women feel able to raise their family. That’s the aim. A Britain restored.

Keir has given huge service to our country and I want to thank him for his leadership and dedication during such a challenging period. His decision marks the beginning of a transition and it is important that this process is conducted in an orderly and responsible way. I will put myself forward as part of this process. The country expects stability, seriousness and a continued focus on the issues that matter most and that is what it will get. As we move forward, our priority must be to work together to get the country back to where we all want it to be. People want to see progress on economic growth, cost of living, public services, housing and opportunities for the next generation. Political change should never distract from the responsibility to improve people's lives. The Labour movement has always been at its strongest when it looks forward with confidence and purpose. This is what we will do from here and we will make sure this transition is a positive process of renewal for our party and our country.

2 weeks ago I was stood on the summit of Mount Everest with my 17 year old son Gabriel. 2 days ago I was finishing of a 4 day charity hiking for a veteran charity across the beaches of Normandy for the 82nd anniversary of D-Day to remember and to pay our upmost respects to our fallen heroes from WWII 🫡🎖️ Today I was in Makerfield supporting a fellow veteran, friend and all round good guy @RobKenyonReform not only to help unite the right but also to help prevent at all costs Labour and Andy Burham from winning this all important by-election. It’s a two horse race (Rob Kenyon and Andy Burham) if Labour lose this seat then they’re done and will be gone in no time. If Burham gets in, he becomes the next PM with months, Labour stabilises and then stick around until the next general election. We need them out NOW! This is a strategic vote, not a time to play into Labours hands. We are a lot smarter than this. Those on the right I urge you to think this by-election through. Remember how Labour has spent the past two years calling everyone racist for worrying about asylum seeker crime rates? Well, the Ministry of Justice just admitted that asylum seekers are committing crimes at a higher rate than all other migrants. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Eritrea have been identified as the most common countries of origin AND the highest crime rates by nationality. Starmer and Co. never usually miss a chance to promise they’ll “punish criminals to the fullest extent of the law.” But they seem to be keeping rather quiet this time… …Funny, that.
