He is correct but not for reasons @wesstreeting gives . Reform is needed to stop NHS money leaking out to equity investors, bankers and private profiteers through costly contracts and to stop service closures and reinstate NHS and duty on Sec of State to provide health care.

The population is ageing and growing. It is getting sicker too as the effects of austerity bite. There are also rising costs in the NHS especially with medical equipment and many drugs. Of course the NHS needs more money. Wes Streeting doesn't know what he's talking about.
