💊📋 Medical preparedness matters especially in an emergency. If you take medication or have important medical information, make sure it’s easy to access when it counts. Keep a simple medical information sheet and an updated medication list in your go-bag or emergency kit. ⏱️ A few minutes of preparation can make a big difference during stressful situations. 🎒 Preparedness isn’t just about supplies, it’s about information. #ReadyOC#MedicalPreparedness#EmergencyGoBag#BePrepared#HeartMonth#CommunityReady

🥫 National Canned Food Month is a great reminder to check your emergency food supplies. Canned food plays an important role in emergency preparedness, especially for go-bags and home kits. Take a moment to: • Check expiration dates • Rotate older items forward • Replace anything that’s expired or damaged • Make sure food is easy to open and ready to eat If you’re restocking and have extras, donating unexpired canned goods is a great way to support your community while staying prepared. Being ready starts with what you already have. #ReadyOC#NationalCannedFoodMonth#EmergencyPreparedness#GoBagReady#FoodStorage#BePrepared#CommunityReady

CERT Trainers from throughout Orange County gathered on Saturday, January 24 at the Orange County Sherrif’s Regional Training Academy for a full-day of training for emergency preparedness. During a man-made or natural disaster, public safety officers are often spread thin and may be unable to immediately respond to those in need. The CERT program helps train community members to help their neighbors during disasters by providing first aid, understanding how to turn off the gas and educating their community with preparedness tips before a disaster strikes. 🚨 Choking is a real emergency — knowing what to do can save a life. If someone is choking, act fast. Ask for consent, encourage coughing if they can breathe, and call 911 if they can’t speak, cry, or cough. When needed, perform the Heimlich and continue until help arrives. If you’re alone and choking, use the back of a chair to help yourself — and call for help immediately. 🎥 CPR guidance from Eddie, certified instructor at ResQBeats CPR 📍 Learn more preparedness tips at readyoc.com #CPRSavesLives #FirstAid #HeimlichManeuver #EmergencyPreparedness #LifeSavingSkills #BeReady #ReadyOC #PublicSafety
