Dear Reece,
Your final high school football season is here and man, what a journey it’s been.
Since the playoffs last year, you’ve locked in and grinded harder than ever. Early mornings, late nights, extra reps, film sessions… it wasn’t always glamorous, but you stayed true to your vision. You told me you wanted to play Division I football, and now you’re headed to the Big Ten to suit up for Rutgers. You didn’t just chase your dream you ran it down and tackled it.
But here’s the part that matters most now: don’t let the destination slow down your drive. You might know where you’re going, but this season is still about proving why Rutgers believed in you. It’s about showing every player, coach, scout, and critic that you’re not just talented you’re relentless.
Play with the same hunger that got you here. Play with the chip on your shoulder that was built from the doubters. Play like you’re still chasing something bigger. Because you are.
This season, go show the city that you’re the most dominant defensive lineman on the field! Week after week. Blow up plays. Lead your squad. Be the guy nobody wants to line up against. I already know what you’re capable of, but now it’s time for everyone else to find out.
And on a personal note man, I’m gonna miss those post-workout Chipotle trips. Sharing laughs, rush plans, and extra guac with you has been one of the highlights of my year. You’re not just an elite athlete, you’re a good dude and that’s what makes watching you succeed so special.
I’m proud of you, Reece. Go finish strong. Make this season unforgettable.
