3 years ago Illinois banned assault weapons, high capacity magazines, and rapid-fire devices. Illinois is undeniably safer - we have had fewer mass shootings and less gun violence. We will keep making progress, and won’t let the gun industry dictate the safety of our state.👊💪

My bill HB5196 passed out of the Personnel & Pensions Committee with unanimous, bipartisan support. This legislation extends the highly successful COLA Buyout Program, helping reduce its long-term pension debt while delivering real, immediate savings for taxpayers. (1/3)
