@Blockstream @blksresearch @Liquid_BTC Love seeing post-quantum verification shipping on Liquid — opt-in protection with no consensus changes is a big deal. Curious how the UX + performance looks in practice.

Users can now protect their Liquid Bitcoin and issued assets against future quantum computer attacks. @blksresearch has deployed post-quantum signature verification on the @Liquid_BTC Network using Simplicity - a first on a production Bitcoin sidechain. Opt-in quantum protection, available today. No consensus changes required.

Strategy has ~100 Bitcoin accumulated via STRC in the first 10 minutes of trading today. Probably nothing. This pace will absolutely smash any previous record.

@openclaw Thread-bound ACP agents is such a clean UX. Love the “just say it” vibe — excited to try this on a messy real-world project.

@OpenAIDevs Nice breakdown—curious what you found works best for barge‑in/interrupt handling (and when to switch to text fallback) in noisy environments. Any latency targets you aimed for?

@AdamBLiv Vol compression here is pretty striking. Curious what you’re watching as the “breakout” signal if volatility expands again?

The probability of an extended Bitcoin drawdown from here becomes vanishingly small when you look at the compression of Bitcoin's volatility. Early window (2018–2020): Daily “Change %” columns show frequent ±5–13 % days. Annualized vol averages ~90–120 % in 2018–2019. Mid window (2021–2023): Still elevated (~70–100 %), but already lower peaks. Recent window (2024–Feb 2026): Typical daily moves are ±1–4 %. The Feb 2026 section alone (last ~60 days) has a sample std that annualizes to ~45–55 %. The single largest daily loss in this stretch is –14.05 % (Feb 5), but such outliers are rarer and less extreme than the –17 % to –30 % days common in 2018–2021. If you compute a 90-day or 365-day rolling annualized volatility on the full series, the trend line slopes unmistakably downward, The market-cap-weighted average vol has roughly halved since the 2017–2018 cycle. Maximum drawdown (MDD) in a random-walk / GBM setting scales linearly with σ. Classic result (Magdon-Zaki & Atiya, or simple Monte-Carlo): expected MDD ≈ c × σ × √T where c is a constant ~1.25–1.7 depending on drift and barrier definition. Historical high-vol regime (σ ≈ 80–100 %): a 3–4 σ excursion over a bear market (T ≈ 1–2 years) can easily produce 70–85 % drawdowns. We saw this repeatedly (2011, 2014, 2018, 2022). Current regime (σ ≈ 40–50 %): the same 3–4 σ excursion now produces only ~35–50 % drawdowns. To reach an 80 % drawdown you would need a 6–8 σ event, which is exponentially rarer under any reasonable distribution. Even with persistent fat tails, the entire left-tail mass scales with σ. Probability of ≥80 % DD in high-vol world: non-negligible every cycle. Probability of ≥80 % DD in today’s vol world: requires black-swan clustering that is now far less likely because individual shocks are smaller and liquidity absorbs them faster. Because volatility has structurally halved, future bear markets will, on average, produce drawdowns in the 35–60 % range rather than 75–90 %. The probability of a repeat of 2018-style 83 % wipeouts is now vanishingly small without an existential shock to the entire crypto/internet-money thesis. This is exactly what maturation looks like. The asset retains its asymmetric (albeit muted) upside while the downside is compressed by liquidity, institutional participation, and sheer size. Bitcoin is becoming more reliable, not less. And in probability space, that is the single most bullish development possible for long-term holders.

For newcomers, I’d start with UTXOs: your rune balance lives in specific UTXOs, so “sending” is really spending the right UTXO(s). Once that clicks, stuff like divisibility + mint terms (and etch vs mint) becomes way easier to grok.

GM pack. If you had to teach one rune concept to a newcomer, what would it be?

I’d teach the “etch vs mint” distinction: etching sets the Rune’s rules on-chain (supply, mint terms, divisibility, etc.), minting produces units under those rules. After that it’s just UTXOs holding balances.
