"Guest from the Future" — Soft Disclosure Ahead of Its Time?
In 1984, the film Guest from the Future, based on Kir Bulychev's novella, was released on screens in USSR. At first glance, its plot is simple, yet it is incredibly profound: a boy named Nikolai from 1984 meets Alisa from the year 2084. Hidden behind this encounter is a vision of a future where humanity has already surpassed a pivotal stage of its development: First Contact has already occurred.
In this world, people have become more mature, technology serves harmony rather than destruction, and space has ceased to be a hostile abyss, becoming instead an open landscape for life. One of the film's most interestning moments is the encounter with extraterrestrials from the Alpha Centauri system. They do not hide, they are not frightening, and they look almost indistinguishable from humans. They simply walk the streets of Moscow as an organic part of that world, casually remarking:
"Know Alpha Centauri? That’s where we’re from..."
In this scene, there is no fear, conflict, or division between "us" and "them." What looked like a gentle fairy tale during the Soviet years is perceived differently today—as a prototype of a possible future where contact becomes a natural stage in the evolution of civilization.
According to modern data regarding interaction with extraterrestrial groups, representatives from the Alpha Centauri systems are considered primary candidates for the first wave of open civilian contact on behalf of the Galactic Federation of Worlds. This is linked to their long-term involvement in "unacknowledged" projects: from negotiations with the Dwight D. Eisenhower administration in the 1950s to technical cooperation within the Solar Warden program.
The Solar Warden program, information about which became public through Gary McKinnon and other sources, is described as a secret space fleet. It is alleged to patrol our solar system using anti-gravity and free-energy technologies obtained through interaction with highly advanced humanoids. Their physical similarity to humans makes such contact less shocking to the collective consciousness, allowing representatives of the Pleiades (the Taal race) and the Tau Ceti system to be included in this "first group" of disclosure.
An internal connection to Earth also plays a vital role in this structure. The planet Selo (Alpha Centauri A) is home to the tall, fair-haired Selosi humanoids, while the planet Meton (Proxima Centauri) represents the world of the Meton. Both civilizations maintain close ties with the ancient colony of Telos—a high-tech settlement of white-haired humanoids located beneath Mount Shasta. The Telosians serve as a living link between the Centauri star systems and our planet's internal ecosystem.
Such a scenario suggests that open contact is not a sudden shock, but the logical conclusion of a long journey. Sometimes, images of the future reach us through art long before we are ready to fully realize their true, deep significance.
