Reflections! That was the theme for yesterday’s final class (class 9) before graduation – the Dog Show we call it at the IL Youth Center Chicago, coined by the youth in the first group in 2010! "I have a new understanding of dogs. I know how to treat them now." #LifetimeBonds

Chicago White Sox Pitcher Lucas Giolito and the Safe Humane -CACC Gio’s Game Changer team at Illinois Youth Center. Bonded strong with PALs Emiliano, Billie Jean and Frankie and the IYC Chicago youth.

The 25 first-year students from DePaul in the “Animals and Humans in Chicago” class were rockstars at CACC yesterday! They learned about CACC and SHC and toured the facility. Then spent time with 2 of our PALs, Charlize and Peony, in the auditorium and did In-Kennel Enrichment.

This week SHC PALs from CACC visited the IL Youth Center Chicago. Our theme was PATIENCE, and the 8 participating young men got it. One wrote, “You had to be patient and concentrated” and “the dogs had the same [emotion} for us and me as I had on them.” #LifetimeBonds

We kicked off our second annual summer Lifetime Bonds program with @EnlaceChicago at CACC today! We'll meet with these ten youth twice a week for five weeks, discussing topics such as compassion, community and connection while building bonds and having fun. #HumanAnimalBond

Thank you to Com Ed for joining us for Corporate Volunteer Day on Friday! It was the 1st time the participants had visited our city's municipal shelter. Everyone had a great time learning about CACC and SHC's mission, while providing In-Kennel Enrichment to the dogs and cats.

SHC hosted these fabulous students from Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy's Zoology Club for a Volunteer Service Day at CACC today. We had so much fun learning about CACC, visiting the cat rooms and providing In-Kennel Enrichment (IKE) to many of the dogs. #HumanAnimalBond
