Recently, I met with Noah Wyle, lead actor of HBO’s The Pitt, and Dr. Fran Haydenak, an OB/GYN and women’s health advocate, to discuss the challenges health care providers across the country face. We discussed the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act, a bipartisan law that I cosponsored, which helps address burnout, suicide, and other mental and behavioral health challenges faced by medical personnel, and other ways Congress can work to support the health care providers, who dedicate so much of their lives to their patients. Health care heroes are there for all of us when we need them most. It is critical we make sure they have the support and resources they need to care for themselves.
