Brian Tracy said something that stuck with me. In 6,000 years of commerce — from the open markets of ancient Sumeria to today — customers have only ever bought one thing. Not a product. Not a technology. Not a brand. One thing. The same thing. For six thousand years. Once I understood what it was, it changed how I build everything. Do you know what it is?

My kids are all grown up. I'm in KL. Some nights that distance feels fine — I'm busy, I'm building. Other nights I look at the time difference and just do the math.

Quiet evenings. No one to explain your day to. You either make peace with it or you stay busy. I do both.

Curious what the book is — but honestly the only thing an entrepreneur really needs is a problem they can't walk away from. That's it.
Eric Jorgenson 📚 ☀️@EricJorgenson

🚨📕 THE BOOK OF ELON IS NOW LIVE!!! 🎉🚀 This is the book we WISHED @elonmusk would write… “All of Elon's most useful ideas, in his own words.” Learn directly from the world’s greatest entrepreneur, like you’re sitting across from him at dinner. It took FIVE YEARS to make this for you. Because it's built from hundreds and hundreds of Elon's public appearances. I went through 3,000,000+ words to collect the most useful and timeless ideas. The final book is ~50,000 words. Every word is USEFUL. (This is what I do. My first book, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, is one of the top 100 most highlighted books of all time on Kindle.) Then, I spent $50,000+ on editing and design so it looks and feels beautiful. Then… > Foreword by @naval. > Visuals by @jackbutcher. > Blurb from @mrbeast. > Published by @scribemediaco. > And yes, approval on this idea from Elon himself, thanks to @samteller. I went Maximum Effort to make this an all-timer. We got 10/10 on reviews from early readers, then worked on it for ANOTHER YEAR. Why so much effort? My mission is to create One Million Musks. For a generation to lift our gaze and build, so our grandchildren live in a world beyond our wildest dreams. I’m an independent author. I don’t get an advance. I risk my own time and money to make these books. Then we give away millions of them. Digital versions are free. I believe this book can benefit every human, and if you can’t pay five bucks for it, I want to personally gift it to you. Because I know it is useful. Useful how? You may be seeking purpose, a mission worthy of your life’s effort. You may have a clear purpose and seek the tools for success. You will find both in this book. Get the benefits of Elon’s entire life of hard-won lessons in a five-hour, easy read. (I checked, it’s a 5th-grade reading level.) You’ll feel personally mentored by the greatest entrepreneur in history. Click below to buy it now on Amazon, Audible, or directly from me. Amazon: amzn.to/47avSuh Audible: lnkd.in/gi_7HrFP Me: lnkd.in/gS2xWUWH If you’re not sure it’s worth $4.99 yet, just start reading the free version. PLEASE take 6 seconds to Like, Bookmark, and Repost. Even better: send this to your friends, team, or Group Chats! I guarantee this book will improve their lives. Spread the word! Every little thing helps. Your support spreads good ideas around the world, helping people and making the future better for everyone. Thank you! Forward. Together.

Infrastructure decisions made now determine who controls the next layer of the internet. That's why we're focused on building before the window closes, not after.

This could be the offramp the world needs. You can think of it as the best outcome for everyone, under the circumstances. (1) From MAGA’s perspective, if Trump declares victory here and moves on, the US won’t waste yet more blood and treasure in the Middle East. It won’t invade Iran. It also won’t take all the blame for the ongoing global supply chain crisis. It just pulls out and lets everyone work out the regional security equation for themselves. Trump can say he’s fulfilled both his campaign promises: stop Iran from getting a nuke, but also no endless Middle Eastern wars. (2) From Israel’s perspective, Iran has now been shown to be quite hostile to its neighbors, and its military has been substantially degraded. Stopping now is good. Otherwise there’s a danger of overreacting to Oct 7 as Americans overreacted to Sept 11. Israel can stand back and call it a win, because after a US pullout, Iran will have much less excuse for holding the Strait hostage. (3) From the Iranian diaspora’s perspective, it’s unfortunately clear that the current war isn’t going to result in liberalization. Further attacks would push Iran further into fundamentalism, making it even harder to eventually do a liberal reformation. (4) From the long-suffering Iranian people’s perspective, ending the war now would also save countless lives. Otherwise they’ll get hit by friendly fire and drafted by the regime to fight for fundamentalism. (5) Finally, from the world’s perspective, once the US declares victory and goes home, substantial diplomatic pressure will be applied to Iran to simply open the Strait of Hormuz and allow ships through. Iran’s leadership has shown, perhaps surprisingly, that they care about global public opinion…and they would be on the hook for the suffering of billions of people if the Strait remains blocked. TLDR: if Trump declares victory and leaves, Iran no longer has any excuse for blocking the Strait and holding the global economy hostage. Let the matter be worked out diplomatically with pressure from all the 100+ affected countries on Iran. America shouldn’t have to spend a single cent more, or send a single soldier more, to the Middle East.

Infrastructure before hype — always. Founders should be early adopters, never followers chasing trends once the hype has already peaked — by then it's too late. The ones who get this right now are the ones you'll be reading about in 5 years. Stay hungry.

This is the question every startup founder should be asking right now. The obsession with AI-readiness is real — but the users who actually pay are still human. The industry is harvesting users, not serving end-consumers. AI adoption is still vastly underused. Build for the person first.

The internet waited decades for commercial infrastructure. EVs waited for charging networks. Every technology deploys when conditions align — not when it's ready. Three conditions just converged in ASEAN simultaneously. None caused by us. All present now. The window is open.

Southeast Asia barely registers on this list, but that's changing fast. The shift in manufacturing is one big reason ASEAN is getting serious startup attention right now. But why is Southeast Asia still being neglected? Where's the real issue — us or the world? I'd argue it's the latter. :)

The smart diffuser space is getting proper design attention. Consumer hardware only goes mainstream when the identity work catches up — and that's exactly why we built Scent Days, Scent Gems, Scent Digital Academy, and Scent Token. Infrastructure first, always. scentdays.com

ASEAN is usually the last market on the list when people talk about new consumer tech. But Netflix penetration in Malaysia. Spotify in Indonesia. Grab across the region. Monthly subscriptions for things people used to own outright. Four senses already streaming. The fifth is sitting on a shelf. When does that change? Photo: Andreas Maier on Unsplash

You probably have 3-5 active subscriptions right now. Netflix. Spotify. Grab. Maybe a food delivery app. Sight, hearing, touch, taste — all covered by something you pay monthly for. Malaysia. Indonesia. Thailand. Vietnam ran this shift faster than most markets people actually talk about. Smell is the only sense still shipping in a glass bottle. Why?

There's a pattern I keep noticing. QR payments. RFID in transit. Touchless vending. Japan ran these years before anyone else normalized them. But digital scent diffusion is a Japanese technology. And ASEAN's 5G just hit threshold. Maybe I'm pattern-matching too hard. Maybe this one's different. What do you think?
