I've had a #SciComm request from Huntington School in York. They are looking for scientists to give talks via Zoom with their Year 11 students following their GCSEs in the next few weeks. I'm not available but if you'd like me to put you in touch with them then let me know.

In humans, the split of boy/girl babies is almost exactly 50-50. Does anyone happen to know if this 50-50 ratio applies to all mammals, and in particular to puppies? (Asking for a puzzle-setting friend.)

This morning Matt Hancock casually stated on @bbcr4today that 'several million will have been vaccinated by Christmas'. 'Several' means 3+ 17 days till Christmas >175,000 vaccinations per day. Really? #CoreMaths
