I have it on good authority that oil tankers bound for Australia are being diverted at Singapore. Unless there is a dramatic change.. there will be major oil shortages. Suburban life in Australia could get very difficult very quickly.

@eevblog I did reply to the original thread, but it is obviously too old for it to pop up. Settlement please.

I don't block people on X. But if I were to, starting a reply with "bro" and then adding nothing of substance would be the insta-block.

The reason Bitcoin flash crashed recently is because now that it's been securitised through ETF's and other instruments in the financial system, and it's the most liquid asset, it has to get sold when the hedge fund reaper comes knocking and unwinding positions across portfolios is forced. The price action actually had little to nothing to do with Bitcoin itself, or "belief" in it. It was the global financial system at play, forcing Bitcoin selloff along with everything else. Bitcoin is just the easiest to move asset and a fast leading indicator. But this financial market activity goes both ways. Bitcoin absorbed the hit and survived. Long term holders are still holding. Institutional treasuries are still accumulating. Countries have strategic reserves. The same integration that lead to the forced selloff crash will be responsible for its recovery. Bitcoin is now completely integrated into the global financial system, it's not just some wacky thing that "crypto bros" play with. So many people don't understand that the game has changed. HODL and stack.

I propose a new terminology variant for Australia: Hanson Derangement Syndrome (HDS) A pejorative, non-clinical term describing irrational intense hatred and hostility towards @PaulineHansonOz It's only going to get worse in coming years as she becomes more mainstream. It joins Trump Derangement Syndrome, and Musk Derangement Syndrome.

@Mon4Kooyong So burn coal and have people run air conditioners. You could even give out free air conditioners to every single habitable place and cost us less than climate policy.

Heat kills more Australians than all other extreme weather events combined. If we named heatwaves and linked them to the fossil fuels that contribute to them, we could draw attention to them as public health emergencies. Agree? sign my petition: moniqueryan.com.au/heatwave_petit…

@eevblog Gentoo. Based on how you love to employ new and unreliable tech, like solar, batteries and heat pumps, etc, and end up spending so many hours trying to figure out what's going wrong and adding to your cost base - you'll love Gentoo
