@networktweets and we have since recorded two more for upcoming releases this year which are now cancelled. For now we're not sure what we will do with those, but mainly it's a shame that this fantastic company that took such risks in giving us restorations of rare and obscure stuff is no more.

Here at Second Features we're very sad about the end of @networktweets. Initially this podcast began life as the Network podcast and we have a couple of unreleased pilot episodes in the can. They also gave us the chance to do our first commentary track...

@KaylaNidorino @HeadExposure We just talked about this for our upcoming episode regarding Pulgasari. I think it's to do with film stock. North Korean films always look about twenty years older than they actually are!

@HeadExposure I'm trying to figure out what makes this look like it was shot in the 70s, because I agree with you. Is it the cinematography? Was there a colour grading or way to transfer footage that was more common then? It's messing with my head.

I just watched this North Korean martial arts film from 2006 that looks and sounds like it was made in the 1970s, and is about saving an ancestral martial arts manual from imperial Japan, so I just had to share it with you. PYONGYANG NALPHARAM (dir. Phyo Kwang)

@SecondFeatures @YouTube Yes! What great news! It's absolutely bonkers, and I'm telling my students about it all the time! The documentary The Lovers and The Despot is also highly recommended - it's a documentary that explains a lot about this film and other crazy ones from North Korea.

@Aaronfilmwrit85 @FilmMemories80s There were board games and everything. We do mention the Robocop computer game and toys I think but there were loads more! Strange times.

@SecondFeatures @FilmMemories80s I felt like that listening to the podcast I must be a similar age as you all on it. What you didn't bring up was the action figures that were marketed to kids in the 80/90s aliens, terminator and robocop had them which I bought with my pocket money 🤣

@SecondFeatures @FilmMemories80s This is where my love of movies began and lead me to study them. At that same age I watched a lot of tv & news this was during the Childs Play 3 banning which even at 8 sounded ridiculous around this time. It made me anti censorship I was a weird kid 😂
