Senators advised that a feasibility study be conducted to properly guide the implementation of the project, even as the county emphasized that the main challenge affecting progress is cash flow and called for additional funding to enable the project to resume.

Senators raised concerns over the absence of a feasibility study, noting that the National Government had indicated that KSh 250 million had already been disbursed for the initiative. However, the Governor informed the Committee that the county had not yet received the funds.

The Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Tourism and Industry paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Kilifi County during an inspection visit to the County Aggregated Industrial Park (CAIP) project in the county.
