Project Counterbalance addressed barriers that lead to higher deregistration, stop-out rates, lower retention, and lower completion rates among students at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (AB-Tech).

The "Tribal Resiliency Grant" project sought to develop six "community quilt" courses as supports to enhance students' academic performance in core courses and to increase student retention in secondary and post-secondary courses.

The 2025 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) World Language Advancement and Readiness Program (WLARP) grant-funded project builds on the prior success of Virginia Beach City Public Schools' dual language immersion and world language programs.

The "GRANTS MADE at Scale" project aims to develop and implement a full-fledged, sustainable, high impact research administration student internship program at five institutions in Maryland and Delaware.

SEG Principal/Lead Evaluator Patricia Moore Shaffer visited the campus of the UMBC, where she interviewed staff for a new initiative, which aims to expand the research compliance capacity of mid-size and smaller universities to better adhere to federal research security policies.

This program supports educational activities that complement or enhance workforce training in biomedical, behavioral and clinical research. These courses for skill development and research experiences must fall within NIDDK's mission areas.

This program supports novel, creative, and transformative approaches to generating and using new knowledge about STEM teaching and learning to improve STEM education for undergraduate students. Deadline: Jan. 21, 2026

This month we submitted the final annual evaluation report to Western Iowa Tech Community College for their Pathways to Success: Strengthening Transfer and Building Equity initiative funded by a USDE Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant.

This month, we submitted the final evaluation report for the “Tribal Government Internship Improvement” project, which sought to develop an internship program on St. Paul Island, Alaska.

We completed the evaluation of the “Deconstructing the Digital Wall: Building Capacity, Removing Barriers, and Enhancing the Current System” project which sought to build on STEM services in the school district through the implementation of an onsite engineering course.
